The recent decision by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Musa Yar'Adua to grant an unconditional- pardon to the NigerDelta Militants is a welcome idea. This action is a measure aimed at ameliorating the longstanding wound meted to the NigerDeltans and an attempt to correct his wrong decision of ordering assault upon the injuries.

This is exactly what he should have done earlier instead of commanding the attact and subsequent destruction of lives of people of the region.

However, i want to appreciate the courage of our dear President Yar'Adua to proclaim an Unconditional Amnesty to my fellow brothers in the region, knowing that they were simply fighting a just cause. I knew very long time ago that one day, as long long a s my redeemer liveth, the truth must surelyl come to light, and that time is indeed the 6th of August, 2009, the effective date of the Presidential pardon on the Nigerdelta
